2016 Summary

This was a very interesting year, and one I feel had many turning points for me in my personal life as well as artistic.  This was the year where I looked back at my old work a lot, and noticed a profound difference between when I started and where I am now.  I still can't believe it's barely been 3 and a half years since I returned to drawing and took it seriously ^^

The earlier part of this year was really inconsistent for me due to a lot of turmoil in my personal life, leading to a lot of stress and struggle to draw more than one piece in a month. But there were a lot of changes as well.  Early April was the time I cast off my laptop in favor of a high-powered gaming PC, and it's opened a plethora of inspiration that is AAA Steam games.  One day I will draw you, Geralt of Rivia...

I had the honor of attending cons for the first time in my life this year.  The first was Sakuracon in March, and AX in early July.  It was the first time I met a lot of awesome artists and people, including some of my online friends that I first met through this community! It was a great experience, and I'm crossing fingers that I can repeat it for the upcoming year! (AX 2017~)

It was in September when things got shaken up for the better.  There are now more people that I've come to befriend and cherish dearly from here, and spending time with them has given me a greater drive with my artwork. I noticed my speed has picked up significantly, and I've been experimenting a lot more with colors, backgrounds, compositions, and perspective.  Still learning though!  In fact, 2017 will probably be an even busier year for me, given what I have in mind for it.  But we will all see what the future will hold for all of us, onward to 2017~ /o/
